A Pizza Party and Cupcakes

Isla attends preschool/daycare at a wonderful in-home preschool/daycare facility that is run by a very sweet women who has been running her facility for 20+ years now. We absolutely love her and we are so thankful to have her taking care of our girl while we are at work and/or school. It was a big transition when we started taking her there last August. It was hard on Isla and me at first. She would cry, and cry when I dropped her off. I felt like such a terrible mom. But eventually, she warmed up and stopped crying when I dropped her off (it took about a month and a half). She now loves her teacher L and all the kids in her class. She talks about them all the time and is alway sad to leave when I pick her up. It make my heart smile when we're home and she sings the songs she's learned while at school, or, she recites her ABCs and the corresponding word and sound for each letter.

Anyway, since Isla's birthday is in a couple days, I decided I wanted to do something special for her on her last day at school as a 2 year old. She LOVES herself some pizza, so, I thought it would be fun to have pizza delivered to her school for all the kids to enjoy at lunch. Since I couldn't be there for that (I was in class), I also decided I wanted to make homemade cupcakes for all the kids to eat during their snack time. I usually pick Isla up right after they finish their snack, so I would be able to be there for this. I even bought some decorations to hang, plates, napkins, and party hats. I showed up about half an hour before I normally do to set up everything. Isla was so excited to see me, and, even more excited when she saw her balloons and all the decorations. After all the kids sat down, put their hats on and waited patiently for me to pass out cupcakes, this happened...

Ready to dig in...

Enjoying her yummy cupcake

Me and my *almost* birthday girl <3

It was so cute, and, I am so thankful that I was there to experience Isla's first birthday party at school.
